Dr. W. Jerry Capps

Dr. Capps is a member of the American, Southern and Georgia Associations of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association and its state and local affiliates.

Dr. Capps attended Emory University for his undergraduate education and for dental school. After three years in the U.S. Navy, he returned to Emory for orthodontic studies. He taught at Emory for three years and has been in private practice since that time.

Dr. Capps is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction earned by fewer than 25 percent of orthodontists. He recently voluntarily re-certified himself with the American Board of Orthodontics to confirm that his skills still meet the high standard of the board.

Dr. Capps has been president of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, the Georgia Academy of Dental Practice, the Georgia Association of Orthodontists and the Emory Orthodontic Alumni Association. He was chairman of the Board of Deacons of the Second-Ponce De Leon Baptist Church in Atlanta. Dr. Capps and his wife, Catherine, currently teach a Sunday School class for young married adults at The Chapel at Big Canoe. Dr. Capps is also active in the Rotary Club of East Cobb and a past president of Rotary.

Dr. Capps and Catherine have two daughters, whom are both married. One daughter lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and the other in Cody, Wyoming. They have five grandsons.
